Consult the FAQs below to see if we can clear up any issues you might be having with KickSwerve.
If you're having any problems that aren't answered below, please contact support@kickswerve.com.
Q. Since downloading the game, it frequently crashes or won't start. Have I done something wrong?
A. As is the case with a lot of apps, it's good practice (and sometimes necessary) to reset your device once the game is installed. This should fix the huge majority of crash problems. KickSwerve supports iPhone & iPod Touch OS 3.1 and above - if you're running an older OS then you're problems might stem from that. In this case, upgrade to at least version 3.1.
Q. I seem to be pretty poor at this game - I can't get enough power/curl on my shots! What am I doing wrong?
A. Remember that the screen of the iPhone or iPod Touch won't be able to register contact with the screen if your touch is too light or your swipe is too fast. Make sure your swipe also goes through the ball. With a little bit of trial and error, you'll be a pro in no time!
Q. I keep getting error messages when trying to sync my scores, upload a replay or download a replay. What's up with that?
A. If you're playing on an iPod Touch, make sure you're connected to the internet via WiFi. Make sure that you don't have Aeroplane mode on too. A standard mobile/cell connection on all iPhone models should be sufficient, although the request to the servers will time out if the network is too slow. Please retry when you have a stronger signal in this case.
Q. So what's the deal with all of the buttons on screen after I take a shot in the Main Game?
A. OK, working clockwise from the top left... First you have the little 'i' button. This pauses the game and brings up the options screen. Next up is the 'Save Replay' button. This bad boy saves a replay of your last kick. In the bottom right of the screen, is the 'Replay' button. Tap this to start a slow-mo replay of your last kick (note that once your replay is initiated, an extra button appears in the top right of the screen, allowing you to toggle between 3 different views). The next button we have is 'Retake', which resets the kick in the same position so you can attempt to score again. Finally we have 'Next Kick', which will take you to the next kick in Main Game, or create a new random position and wall setup in Quick Play.
Q. When I deleted one of my replays in the Replay Gallery, the order of my other replays changed. WTF?!
A. If you delete a replay that sits in a slot (1-10) that isn't the last one, all of the remaining replays will move down to fill the space. For example, if you had 7 saved replays and deleted number 5, then numbers 6 and 7 would drop down to take up the lowest numbers, filling 1-6 in total.
Q. I uploaded a replay and got a code. When I uploaded a new replay, the code was the same. Is this right?
A. Yes, it's correct. At the minute, each device gets one replay slot to share over our servers. You can overwrite this with a new replay at any time and any of your replays that have been downloaded previously by your friends will remain intact in the downladed replays area of their games.
Q. I exited the tutorial early when playing for the first time, but I want to go through it again. Is this possible?
A. Yes, you can play through the tutorial at any time by going into Training, then selecting Tutorial. Voila!
Q. What's the difference between Amateur and Pro difficulty settings?
A. The goalkeeper. He's faster in Pro.
Q. I'm having some real difficulty scoring in some scenarios where the angle is tight. Any tips?
A. Well, we wouldn't want to make it too easy for you, but sometimes the best tactic is to not swerve the ball! It's also sometimes easier to attempt to lob the 'keeper - if you can squeeze a shot in just below the crossbar, he'll have difficulty stopping it.
Q. Are there plans to bring KickSwerve onto other touch-based platforms?
A. We're pleased to be able to say that KickSwerve is now available on the Android Market as well as the App Store! There are no current plans to expand beyond that.
